Na sequência do segundo tempo, o Botafogo passou a ter amplo domínio da partida e marcou o segundo gol. Léo Pedro tabelou com Sapata pela esquerda e deixou o camisa 7 em condições de ampliar o placar.

Inspirado, o camisa 7 do Botafogo aproveitou mais uma boa bola e estufou a rede. Sapa chutou forte e contou com o desvio em Borel para enganar o goleiro Lucas Davi e marcar seu hat-trick. Em outro grande momento, Maranhão tocou para Antôni, que apesar de ficar cara a cara com o goleiro, finalizou no travessão.

No fim, João Felipe soltou uma bomba, mas Lucas Davi fez a defesa. Contudo, no rebote, o próprio meio-campo finalizou novamente para ampliar o placar. O Botafogo fez uma grande estreia e, com tranquilidade, saiu de campo com os três pontos pela Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior.

Florida, Morrisville, Dallas and New York among shortlisted venues inspected by ICC, with USA set to co-host tournament with West Indies

The 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played from June 4 to 30 next year in the Caribbean and the USA, across 10 venues, ESPNcricinfo has learned.It is understood that this week an ICC team inspected some shortlisted venues in the USA, which will be hosting an international global cricket event for the first time. These include Lauderhill in Florida, which has hosted international matches already (and is set to host West Indies vs India in the coming fortnight), Morrisville, Dallas and New York, for tournament matches and warm-ups.Morrisville and Dallas are currently hosting the inaugural edition of Major League Cricket in the USA. The grounds in Dallas (Grand Prairie Stadium), Morrisville (Church Street Park) and New York (Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx) are yet to get international venue status, which is mandatory as per ICC rules. A final decision on the venues will be taken by the ICC together with Cricket West Indies (CWI) and USA Cricket (USAC) in the next few months.This week Ireland, Scotland and Papua New Guinea qualified for the 20-team T20 World Cup via the regional qualifiers pathway put in place by the ICC. While PNG topped the East Asia-Pacific Qualifer, Ireland and Scotland finished in the top two positions in the Europe Region Qualifier. Twelve teams had already qualified for the tournament before the regional qualifiers, including hosts West Indies and USA, and the top eight teams at the 2022 T20 World Cup – Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka. Afghanistan and Bangladesh qualified by virtue of their spots in the T20I rankings, completing the 20-team roster.The format for the 2024 World Cup will be different to the last two editions (2020-21 in the UAE and 2022 in Australia), where the first round was followed by Super 12s. Next year, the 20 teams will be divided into four groups of five each for the first round, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the Super 8s. The Super 8 teams will be split into two groups of four each, with the top two in each group reaching the semi-finals.The 2024 T20 World Cup is the first of the eight men’s global events in the ICC’s next commercial cycle from 2024-31, which was finalised in 2021. The decision to appoint the USA as a co-host was part of a strategic move by the ICC with twin goals in mind: one, the North American market was identified as a strong market for growth of the game. And two, the ICC’s ambition to have cricket feature in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games (LA28).The USA being pencilled in to co-host a major cricket event, the ICC felt, would only help in the push for cricket’s inclusion in LA28. The ICC made a presentation to the LA28 team, with a final decision to be taken by the International Olympics Committee later this year.

A whole host of Premier League clubs are said to be vying for Maza’s signature, with his price set to drop in the summer, having previously been valued at over €20m (£17m).

That figure is set to be halved due to a clause in the Algeria international’s contract, meaning he could be available for roughly £8m, but it may be difficult to get a deal done, given the level of interest.

Maza is one for the future

The 19-year-old only featured sporadically in the Bundesliga II last season, but he has really kicked on this term, amassing five goals and four assists in the German second tier, having primarily been utilised as an attacking midfielder.

During his time playing youth football, the teenager was also deployed at centre-forward and left-wing, so he could be a versatile option for Hurzeler in attack, should Albion be able to get a deal done.

The signing of Stefanos Tzimas demonstrated the pulling power the Seagulls have, given that there was widespread interest from some top Premier League clubs, so there is certainly a chance the Algerian ends up at the American Express Stadium.

Scout Ben Mattinson thinks the attacker will move to a club of Brighton’s stature to develop his game initially, at which point his value could soar, leading to interest from Champions League clubs.

Of course, if Maza does go on to become a top player, Hurzeler will be hoping to keep hold of him, but Brighton’s model relies on buying up-and-coming players before selling them for profit, and this seems like it could be a similar type of deal.

Em entrevista ao LANCE!, o jogador de 19 anos, que está entre os convocados da Seleção Brasileira sub-20, foi uma das peças principais do elenco do técnico Paulo Victor Gomes neste ano. O sub-20 alviverde levou a Copinha (de forma inédita), o Brasileirão e a Copa do Brasil. Um sequência perfeita com uma tríplice coroa nacional, reforçando a potência que é o Verdão nas categorias de base.

-Foi um ano muito bom pra gente. Começamos 2022 com título e terminamos com título. Coletivamente nós evoluímos muito, graças ao professor Paulo (Victor Gomes). Aqui a gente sempre se prepara para ganhar todos os campeonatos. E a gente fica muito feliz de ter vencido três dos quatro torneios que participamos. Mostra a força desse grupo! – comentou o meio-campista ao L!.

Elenco não cansa de ganhar títulos

O Alviverde pode fechar 2022 com todos os títulos da base organizados pela CBF, uma vez que já conquistou as Copas do Brasil sub-17 e sub-20, e o Brasileirão sub-20, e nesta quinta-feira enfrenta o Grêmio, ás 21h30, pelo Brasileiro sub-17. Para Pedro Lima, o segredo do clube é que os jogadores nunca cansam de ganhar.

-A principal diferença do Palmeiras para as outras categorias de base está na nossa vontade de vencer. A gente não cansa nunca. Não nos acomodamos com nenhum título. Esse clube tem fome de vitória. Acho que isso também se deve muito graças ao trabalho do João Paulo em todas as categorias, porque é assim desde baixo.

Para provar que essa garotada não se cansa de ganhar, Pedro Lima já pensa na Copinha de 2023. Apesar de ainda não saber se vai ou não ser relacionado para o torneio do início do ano, ele garante que o Palmeiras é favorito para conquistar o bicampeonato do torneio.

-A gente ainda não sabe quem vai pra Copinha e quem vai fazer pré-temporada com o time principal, mas de qualquer forma, eu jogando ou não, o Palmeiras briga, sim, pelo bi. Temos muitos jogadores bons aqui e que podem levar a equipe longe na competição.

Ida para o profissional e recado de Abel Ferreira

Além dos três títulos deste ano com o sub-20, Pedro Lima acumula os Paulistas sub-13 (2016) e sub-20 (2021), a Copa do Brasil sub-17 e a Supercopa do Brasil sub-17, ambas em 2019. Com todo esse currículo e o futebol que tem apresentado, o caminho natural é pensar em uma promoção ao elenco principal. No entanto, ele não quer queimar etapas e quer primeiro pensar em conquistar seu espaço.

-Eu não penso muito em um lugar quero ocupar no Palmeiras. Ainda não. Quero conquistar meu espaço, merecer meu tempo em campo e retribuir o que esse clube me deu desde sempre. Como na base, quando chegar no profissional quero levantar muitas taças na frente da nossa torcida – declarou o meio-campista.

No entanto, não é difícil que Pedro Lima apareça entre os profissionais já em 2023. Além de ser uma posição que o elenco vai ficar carente por conta de saídas, tanto o técnico Abel Ferreira, quanto a presidente Leila Pereira já avisaram que muitos reforços virão das categorias de base, o que anima o jovem de 19 anos.

-É muito legal ouvir do Abel (Ferreira) que ano que vem ele pretende usar ainda mais a base. A gente fica animado. Esse ano já foi muito bom ver vários companheiros do sub-20 atuando no time de cima e acredito que seja uma tendência para os próximos anos – concluiu.

Nesta quinta-feira, às 19h30, Pedro Lima atuará pela Seleção Brasileira sub-20, que está no Chile para dois amistosos contra a seleção local. A preparação é de olho no Sul-Americano da categoria,previsto para ser realizado entre os dias 19 de janeiro e 12 de fevereiro, na Colômbia, valendo vaga no Mundial.
